ABOUT THE FIRM

OTMK was founded in 2015 by Bob O’Connor, Sean Thompson, Erin McDonough, and John Klotsche.  OTMK’s current partners -- Sean, Erin, and John -- collectively have served the construction industry for more than 50 years.  Bob is now Of Counsel to the firm and a full-time arbitrator of construction disputes.

OTMK traces its roots back to McDonough Holland & Allen (“MHA”) – formerly one of Sacramento’s largest law firms. More than 35 years ago, Bob O’Connor started his career at MHA where he partnered with Will Lichtig to forge a practice group that focused exclusively on the construction industry.  Under Bob and Will’s leadership and expertise, MHA’s practice became a preeminent team of construction attorneys in the region, representing many leading construction industry companies and entities.

Sean, Erin, and John joined MHA’s construction group in 2001, 2005, and 2008, respectively, and continued the tradition of providing excellent yet cost-effective legal advice to contractors, subcontractors, owners, sureties, and many more construction industry players.

In 2010, MHA disbanded and the founding partners of OTMK moved their practice to Hanson Bridgett LLP, a San Francisco-based law firm. At Hanson Bridgett, they continued to provide legal services to the construction industry.

In 2015, Bob, Sean, Erin and John decided to re-shape their practice and formed OTMK. They recognized a need for a small, dynamic law firm that could provide the high-end legal service of a large firm with the flexibility and personalized service of a smaller boutique.

OTMK is proud of its history and local heritage and is committed to continuing the tradition of providing construction clients with cost-conscious, top quality legal representation. OTMK attorneys are consistently recognized as industry leaders, with annual accolades from reputable national and local publications such as Best Lawyer in America®, Super Lawyers®, Sacramento Business Journal, the American Lawyer and Sacramento Magazine.
